What You Need
1 bag DJENDE Bedtime Ritual
150 ml water at 100°C / 212°F
100 ml oat milk or plant-based milk
1 tsp honey — optional
1 slice lemon — optional
Temperature100°CFull boil — releases valerian and chamomile
Steep time5–7 minLonger than standard for these roots
Volume300 mlOr 150 ml concentrated + 100 ml milk
The Latte Method

Steep concentrated
Heat 150 ml water to 100°C. Steep your Bedtime Ritual bag for 7 minutes for a concentrated base.

Warm the milk
Gently heat 100 ml of oat milk. Do not boil.

Assemble
Pour the infusion into your mug. Add warm milk gently. Stir.

Finish
Add honey. Rest a lemon slice on the rim. Get comfortable.

Savour
Drink slowly. Without a screen if possible. That is the ritual.
✦ Variations to Try
Iced (summer): Brew concentrated infusion, let cool, pour over ice with cold oat milk. Surprisingly refreshing.
Spiced: Add a pinch of cinnamon or cardamom before steeping.
Maple: Replace honey with a few drops of maple syrup.
Stronger: Steep 2 bags instead of one for a more intense base.
💡 Why the long steep?
Valerian and chamomile release their active compounds slowly. 5–7 minutes is not optional — it is what makes this blend work. A 2-minute steep produces flavour but little else. Give the plants the time they need.
