At DJENDE, impact is not something we want to add as an afterthought. It is part of the long-term vision behind the brand.
From the beginning, DJENDE was built with a deeper purpose in mind: to honour origin, respect the work behind each ingredient, and create meaningful value beyond the final product. Our approach is rooted in heritage, responsibility, and the belief that business should grow with integrity.
Why this matters to us
Part of DJENDE’s vision was inspired by the legacy of Elisette, whose commitment to supporting children’s education left a lasting mark on the Djende community.
Her example continues to shape our thinking today. She reminded us that dignity is strengthened through education, opportunity, and continuity. That belief remains at the heart of the impact DJENDE hopes to build over time.
The legacy of Miambe Alphonse also remains central to this vision. His life reflected discipline, agricultural commitment, and deep respect for the land. Together, these values continue to guide the kind of brand we are building: one that values both labour and future generations.
Our commitment
DJENDE is building a long-term impact initiative connected to education-focused support for children from farming families linked to Djende.
As part of this commitment, $0.25 from every order is set aside to help support meaningful actions over time. We chose a model that is simple, trackable, and intended to grow responsibly with the brand.
Our goal is not to make oversized promises, but to build a commitment that is clear, transparent, and sustainable.
What we hope to support
As this initiative develops, DJENDE intends to help support education-related needs connected to children in farming communities linked to Djende.
Over time, this may include identified needs such as school materials, educational support, or other concrete actions aligned with this mission. Any future actions will be communicated carefully and transparently, as the initiative takes shape.
We prefer to build this work responsibly rather than speak beyond what is already in place.
